Beads!

I got some new beads today! This is the first time I’ve ordered from Fire Mountain Gems and I must say I was impressed! I love the stone assortments I got for only $1 each and the big glass bead assortment is great too. I’ll definitely order more of those. There are some really pretty pink beads in there. Those are my favorites from this order. I also got a lot of rose quartz stones in the stone assortments. I like those too. There is one strand of light green stones. I don’t know what they are called, but I think they’ll look nice with some of the rose quartz. I’ll have to make something using both of them together.

Bernat Baby Boucle

Poor baby Julia got her first shots yesterday, and afterward we stopped by Walmart to pick up a few things we needed. Craft supplies were not on the list (or in the budget!). However, as we neared the craft department, the temptation to “just look” got the best of me.

I made it past the scrapbooking stuff without too much trouble. That’s one of those crafts I might like to get involved with someday, but I haven’t yet. So it’s not so tempting. Getting past the beads without buying anything was a LOT harder. I did it, but not until after spending quite some time drooling over all the new beads. It’s been awhile since I looked at Walmart’s beads and they have gotten a lot of new styles.

The next aisle has yarn and fabric. I made it past the yarn, looked through the stacks of fat quarters, and turned around. Clearance stuff. Oooooh… how can I resist such good deals?

I ended up getting two huge skeins of Bernat Baby Boucle. They are 10.5-oz skeins in a variegated blue and lavender color that is called water slide. Very pretty. At $3 each, they were about half price. Then I got four packages of 12 mm coin ring beads made from shells. I have plans to make them into bracelets. They were only 25 cents per package.
