Crafts Crazy

My name is Beth Parker and I am crazy about crafts! My favorite is crochet, followed by painting on rocks. I love all of Lin Wellford’s rock painting books. I also knit, both by hand and by machine. I do cross stitch, plastic canvas, beadwork and quilting. I am a yarn and fabric addict. I drool over the beautiful beads in the Fire Mountain Gems catalog. I recently picked up Tunisian crochet and have been thinking about learning to make hairpin lace.

Random Facts about Me

I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world, David Parker. We have a new baby girl named Julia and I am blessed to be able to stay home with her and work (or play) on the computer all day. Or at least when she lets me! New babies can be so demanding. I have two teenagers from my first marriage. Melissa is sixteen and Josh is fifteen.

I play the flute, piccolo and a little piano (very little). I’d like to learn to play the mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, alto sax and maybe the harp. I have played my flute on the White House lawn, in the Detroit Thanksgiving Day parade and during the 7th inning stretch at a Detroit Tigers game.

I love to write. I make a little money each month writing articles for Constant Content and HubPages. The HubPages income comes from the Google Adsense ads they display on my article pages. I get a check from Google about every other month.

I enjoy gardening but I don’t have a garden this year because it was too much to try planting when Julia was a newborn. We are thinking about moving anyhow so I am just going to wait until next year to plant anything.
